The Journey Starts Here
Welcome to Pathfinder – your official roadmap for our trip to ICD-10.
We chose this name because the transition to ICD-10 is truly a long journey. One that will require us to chart our own path as we learn new systems and processes, change the way we capture information and, ultimately, improve the care we provide our patients and health plan members.
We aren’t making this journey alone though. Health care providers and payors across the nation will begin using ICD-10 code sets next year – moving away from the ICD-9 system that has been in place since 1979.
Like any great road trip, there will be bumps along the way. But this also will be an adventure. Throughout it all, we’ll stay focused on the reason we are making this journey… our patients and health plan members. Simply put, ICD-10 will help us collect better, more detailed information, which leads to more informed decisions and higher quality of care. And that makes it a trip worth taking.
